China Telecom Guangzhou Research Institute has chosen to cooperate with CDN to develop the 3 monitoring system

In September 2013, China Telecom Guangzhou Research Institute signed a software development cooperation agreement with Texas Communications (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. to jointly develop an adaptive CDN signaling and media streaming service monitoring system. The system uses the EVA-HS 10,000-megabit high-performance probe of Texas Communications as the hardware acquisition platform to perform signaling protocol consistency, media stream QoS monitoring and multi-interface KPI index correlation analysis for the key interfaces of CDN 3.0 network, such as D-series interface and S 4/H4 interface, so as to realize the protocol implementation of CDN devices from different manufacturers. Correctness test and performance verification. The system can capture and analyze the media flow and signaling protocols on the Gigabit interface at wire speed, and can support a wide range of IP video streaming services, including IPTV and VOD based on MPEG-TS, Internet video based on HTTP progressive download, and multi-screen interactive services based on HLS adaptive streaming media.

About China Telecom CDN 3.0

China Telecom CDN network is divided into backbone network, provincial network and cooperative network according to the different types of services and operation modes. IPTV V2.0 CDN module adopts private standard, which is tightly coupled with EPG system, and has weak scalability, so it is difficult to share the capability. To this end, organized by the technical department of China Telecom Corporation, the Guangzhou Research Institute of China Telecom Corporation drafted the “China Telecom CDN 3.0 Standard”. The CDN constructed by the standardized CDN interface and the fusion bearer technology can provide a basic platform for large-scale video distribution. The key technologies include: introducing the architecture of separation of distribution and service to realize the smooth upgrade of media services; introducing a new content scheduling and distribution method to solve the same content multi-terminal in multi-screen environment. Sharing problems and simplifying the management of content.

Liang Jie, director of development at Guangdong Telecom Research Institute, gave a speech on “Building an Open and Fusion Media Pipeline to Meet the Coming of the Network Video Age” at the China Television Summit Forum in 2012. CDN has become an inevitable choice for operators. Liang Jie introduced the CDN development goals of China Telecom.
