IPTV Security Monitoring and Surveillance

In recent years, television business has been attacked by hackers and hostile forces, causing extremely bad effects. As a TV-based media service, IPTV has the characteristics of fast message dissemination and large scope of influence. Therefore, real-time security monitoring is implemented to prevent data from being tampered with and IPTV service content is ensured. IPTV security becomes crucial. In order to improve the security assurance capability of IPTV, operators must build a comprehensive IPTV service security monitoring system.

Based on the analysis of possible security risks in IPTV networks and business processes, Dekscom has designed a complete set of security monitoring solutions covering EPG services, live broadcast programs, on-demand programs, and set-top boxes.

IPTV EPG Security monitoring software

EPG security monitoring probe can be deployed in the key IPTV network location (i.e central platform switch, edge platform switch, user home network, etc.) to simulate various protocol of the set-top box, crawl the columns and functions on the EPG pages, and obtain the related EPG information. Through the pattern recognition, screening comparison and inspection of the EPG keywords obtained by the central platform, the security of the EPG source information is ensured and the trusted EPG content library is generated automatically. The EPG information obtained by the edge platform or the user side is compared with the trusted EPG content library obtained by the central platform to ensure the EPG information on the edge platform and the user side not to be tampered with.

IPTV live channel security monitoring solution

The IPTV live channel security monitoring system deploys live channel acquisition probes in key IPTV network locations (eg, provincial center platform live broadcast source, edge CDN platform, BAS, OLT, etc.) to extract audio and video feature values of live channels, and then the channel feature values of different network nodes are transmitted back to the central comparison server, and the central server performs video frame-level consistency comparison on the programs between the two monitoring points according to the probe channel comparison relationship. Inconsistent content or abnormal faults (i.e. signal loss, static frame, black field, color bar, color field, etc.) are alarmed and reported to the “one-button shutdown” system to block the multicast streaming network of the problem IPTV live channel, and wait for security processing operations.
