Dekscom Co., Ltd. Announces EVA-HP Home Probe and EVA-Pad Handheld Meter

On May 21, 2012, Dekscom officially released two IPTV test solutions for the EVA-HP family probe and the EVA-Pad handheld instrument. This solution is mainly suitable for first-line IPTV network maintenance personnel (such as community managers) to quickly diagnose and isolate complex IPTV video service quality faults in the home network or corridor. The main application modes of EVA-HP probes including:

·    By deploying the EVA-HP probe at the user’s end, the IPTV service quality perceived by the VIP user can be monitored remotely in real time. Video programs watched by the user can be recorded and played back.

·    Delimitation of IPTV service quality problems caused by IPTV platform and area network through single-point monitoring.

·    EVA-HP probes can be deployed on broadband access nodes (such as corridor switches) close to users to isolate IPTV service quality problems caused by carrier networks and user home networks without disturbing VIP users.

·    For difficult (or accidental) IPTV faults, long-term raw data acquisition can be carried out to facilitate network operation and maintenance center (NOC) ITV technical engineers to diagnose the root cause of the fault analysis.

In order to be suitable for first-line network maintenance personnel to facilitate the use and rapid diagnosis of complex IPTV service quality issues, the company also introduced EVA-Lite Lite software for use with EVA-HP and EVA-Pad. EVA-Lite can track and video playback all the programs viewed by a specific user; visually display the video quality, media quality, IP network quality and user interaction quality of specific users (including EPG page access delay, live broadcast change) Health status of delay, VoD on-demand delay, etc.; and can automatically generate expert system prompts to solve various faults of video server, radio and television program source, and IP bearer network (upstream and downstream nodes that can isolate monitoring points).
